Church today 1/29/12

Quorum member Gene Tamashiro was called as Assistant Ward Clerk.

Sacrament meeting today was about the efforts of the ward mission, led by Ward Mission leader Tommy Friel.   Today's speakers included two recently baptized members, Maui Higa (grandson of quorum member Meldon Leong) and Reico Baso (brother of Rocky Baso).  Also speaking were the ward's two full-time missionaries, Elder John Carter and Elder Cottle.  We were challenged to have the Book of Mormon with us at all times and to be ready to pass it on to someone who wants to learn more about the  gospel of Jesus Christ.  Also during the program, three quorum members, Kanoa Kanahele, Joe Faumuina, and Damon Magalogo, sang a stirring version of Where Can I Turn for Peace.

Being a fifth Sunday, there was a combined meeting of the Priesthood and Relief Society in the third hour.  High Priest leader Herman Kanahele conducted an inspiring meeting about family history and temple work.
