Elder Braeden Santiago was the concluding speaker in sacrament meeting today. He is headed to Philippines, Tacloban Mission, where he'll serve for two years.

Church Today: 22 July 2012
Brother Craig Yugawa, recently returned from a mission to South Africa, spoke today.
Key points of his talk:
--Every member (of the church) should be (an active) member
--Develop holy habits
--Obedience will lead to the reception of everything we need.
--Understand the significance of the Atonement.
Also speaking was Sister Billie Yugawa (Craig's mom), who told us a story about training for the marathon and how she discovered that she had to strengthen her core. Likening this experience to spirituality, she encouraged us to help strengthen the spiritual core of our youth as well as our own spiritual cores "so that there is no wiggle room" for spiritual drift.

--Strive to be a good source of gospel soil (see Alma 32:28-43).

--Be on guard for false prophets and those who criticize the church (like Korihor from Alma 30).
